There is always loads to see and do in Walton on the Naze. Apart from spending the days on the beach you can go hunting for sharks teeth, visit the maritime museum, go swimming in the pool, check out the art exhibitions at the Naze Tower, go on a seal watching boat trip and go on the rides on Walton Pier.

There are also a number of events happening in 2019 if you fancy something a bit different.

Walton Primary School Fete

Saturday 22nd June, 12pm – 3pm
Walton Primary is one of several primary schools in the area (and happens to be where my son goes to school). It’s a couple of minutes walk from the beach so if you fancy a pootle around a few stalls make your way to Standley Road for the afternoon. Traditional school fete activities will be taking place including guess the weight of the cake, pony rides, a tombola, nail painting, face painting and a coconut shy. Refreshments will be available to buy. Money raised goes to the school’s PTA.

Walton Carnival

Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th August
Carnival is THE weekend to be in Walton. A parade travels through the town from 2pm on Saturday 17th (so get into town and parked before then) – featuring Walton’s carnival court and floats from local groups and businesses. Each year it has a new theme and in 2019 it’s ‘music and performance’. Bring some pennies to throw into the charity buckets.

On the Bathhouse meadow will be rides, food and drink, and craft stalls.

Classic Car Show

Sunday 8th September, 10am – 4pm
This popular car show has around 250 exhibitors of classic cars and motorcycles. It takes place on the Bathhouse Meadow and there are plenty of opportunities to take photos and talk to the car owners.
